Structure of GRP Sectional Panel Water Tank

Structure of GRP Sectional Panel Water Tank are mainly composed of SMC molded GRP/FRP

panels and hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel accessories. The most important structural components

include the GRP panels and the internal support system, including steel support rods and lacing bar

(used to support the interior of the tank, distribute pressure, and ensure structural stability).

GRP water tanks can be flexibly assembled according to capacity requirements into tanks ranging in

volume from 0.125m³ to 1500m³. The length, width, and height dimensions of the water tank should

be selected as multiples based on 500mm.

Main Structural Components Include:

1) Water Tank Surface Structure

Constructed by assembling standard-sized SMC molded panels, GRP panel sizes such as:

– 1000×1000 mm

– 1000×500 mm

– 500×500 mm

– 1500×500 mm

GRP Panel thickness options include: 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm,

18mm, etc., different layer panels will be design with different thickness, These panels are assembled

to form a rectangular water tank structure.

2) Internal Support System

Stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized lacing bar and steel support rods that provide internal

structural support.

3) Pipe Connections  

Pipe connections are made using pre-welded flange with various sizes, including

Inlet, outlet, bottom drain ,overflow ,The size and position of the flange ports can be

customized according to customer requirements.

4) Other Accessories

Bolts and nuts for connect GRP panels,Manhole cover, Internal and external ladders

Water level indicator, etc.

5) Sealing Materials

A sealing belt is placed between the GRP panels to prevent leakage. Leak-proof materials such as

leak sealing and glass glue.

6) Concrete Foundation

The concrete foundation consists of concrete strips arranged according to the spacing between GRP panel

gap, It must have sufficient load-bearing capacity to support the total weight of the water tank when fully

filled with water.

The concrete foundation needs to be constructed by the customer before installation. Our company will

provide complete foundation drawings to the customer.

Additionally, the concrete foundation ensures a certain clearance beneath the tank bottom, providing

space for the drain outlet; otherwise, the drain would need to be located on the side of the tank.
